NARS Yachiyo Kabuki Brush

Hey everyone!
Talking today about another present I received for my birthday. I'm a very lucky lady - my mum got me the NARS Yachiyo Kabuki Brush (£37.50)! I had seen this brush on blogs and Youtube, and fell in love with it's pretty wrapped handle, and the way it looked like ti might be my perfect blush brush. I think I was on to something.
Look at it.
Sigh.
I mean, really? So pretty.

This is obviously a luxury purchase. It's expensive for a brush, and having never tried a NARS brush before I was nervous that I wouldn't like it. But I think that this is a perfect blush brush.
No, it is not the softest brush I have ever tried. It is soft, but not as kitten-soft as the Real Techniques blush brush. This means that the bristles splay out a lot less and it has a firmer quality.
Whilst it is still flexible enough to buff blush up and out, it is firm enough that blush can be placed where you want it. It disperses more pigmented blushes with ease, and can be used with all my powder blushes. I have yet to try it with a cream blush.
In terms of washing, I wrapped the handle in a towel and washed carefully - and experienced no shedding or bleeding, but that could be because I was being ultra careful (so expensive!) In these photos it kind of looks like the top of the winding is loose, but if you click the link above you can see that is how it's meant to look.
Have any of you tried this brush? I also think it would make a good contour brush, is that how anyone uses it?

    1. It is very expensive - if I hadn't received it as a gift then I'm not sure I would have bought it for myself.

  6. DYING RIGHT NOW OVER THIS POST! SO jealous, I've wanted this brush for FOREVER. Being such a fan of pigmented blushes, I've heard this is the best brush to go with. But you're totally right, its such a luxury item that I still haven't convinced myself to grab it. This post is dangerous, its bringing back my want for it ;)

    1. Haha! I'm sorry, didn't mean to reignite your obsession with this brush! It is an investment, so it's worth taking the time to seriously consider whether you truly need it or just want it. But it is super lovely and if you like pigmented blush then....:P
