MAC Lipstick in Fanfare: Swatch and Review

Hey everyone!
As you might have guessed from my birthday post last week, my mum got me a couple of MAC lipsticks as a gift. They are two shades I've been lusting after for a while, and I'm taking a look at one of them today. The shade is Fanfare (£14) - and isn't it pretty?

This is my first ever Cremesheen finish, which means I only have yet to try the Satin and Frost finishes.
Fanfare is a lovely, mid-toned neutral pink, almost like a blush pink without the dusky undertones. The colour isn't as strong as an Amplified finish, but is definitely pigmented and  opaque, with a medium amount of sheen. I'd say this a cross between Amplified and Glaze in terms of finish.
It's not drying, but it doesn't last all day either. A good 4-5 hours without eating or drinking.

I love this shade as a natural-ish boost to my lips - it adds a pink flush without being overbearing.

What do you think?

  4. Funny, I was just thinking about this colour the other day. I think I recently read a post that also featured it and saw a YouTube video of someone going through their MAC lipstick collection and mentioning it. Very pretty colour, it's a super wearable pink with a touch of brightness to it as well.
