Carmex Cherry Lip Balm Swatch and Review

Hey everyone!
I know, I know - how can you swatch a lip balm? I thought I would do it anyway, to show how moisturised my lips became after using this. I already own the original Carmex lip balm, but I prefer this, the Carmex Cherry Lip Balm (£2.69)* much more.

I think I've mentioned this before, but I love Carmex packaging. This will sound odd, but it reminds me of boot polish packaging. It has a very vintage feel which I enjoy.
Carmex Cherry Lip Balm is, of course, cherry scented which I thought I would hate, but it doesn't smell too sweet or artificial. It contains SPF 15, which is great as lips should be sun protected but I never remember to do so.
It is definitely moisturising, smells lovely and makes my lips tingle for a brief period after application. It is not irritating on me, though. Here's how I look after applying to bare lips:
And, as an experiment, I applied a matte lipstick - Revlon's Mauve It Over - on top, after waiting 10 minutes. This lipstick is not drying but over Carmex it becomes moisturising. It also loses a great deal of it's matteness, becoming closer to a satin or regular lipstick. This lessens it's staying power, but this would be a great way to wear a matte as a normal lipstick - I really like Mauve it Over in a non-matte finish.
What's your favourite lip balm?
