Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains in Crush, Romantic and Rendezvous: Swatch and Review

Hey everyone!
So, guess who caved in and bought some of the just released Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains, despite being skint-er than a skint thing? Oh yes, that would be me. I got three, actually, at the introductory price of £5.99 from Superdrug. I don't know how long they'll stay that price though, so if you want one you might want to grab the bargain!
The shades I got were Crush, Romantic and Rendezvous. I picked these because the pinks looked too cool toned for me, and the nude looked to pale as well. Plus, who doesn't love red, purple and orange lipsticks?

I love this packaging. I know it's quite similar to the Clinique Chubby Stick packaging, but I think I like that the caps match the tube of the packaging. The just feel like fun products, like those giant crayons you can buy in art supply stores.
I also like that the tubes are twist-up, so that you don't waste any product through sharpening.
These feel like the perfect summer product - a chunky tube you can just throw in your bag and use throughout the day.
L-R: Crush, Romantic, Rendezvous

I could not be more pleased with the colours I got either. On the skin, Crush swatches as a deep berry fuchsia. On my lips it looks like I've been eating blackberries - I think this is the very definition of a stain!
Romantic is a neutral to yellow leaning red. It reminds me of a more tomato type red, actually. This is just as pigmented as Crush on my lips, darkening them to a bitten red.
Rendezvous is the coral orange of the bunch. This applied slightly less coral on my lips, allowing as it does for a little natural lip colour to peek through. It looked like a lovely orange glossy stain.
Here they are on:
Crush

Romantic

Rendezvous

These wore very well on me. Some people have claimed they are drying, but I don't feel this at all. Even on my thin lips, the chunky nib was easy to use.
The formula was waxy, harder than I expected which is such a relief as I didn't want another melty lip product! It glides easily across the lips and is fairly pigmented - although I think depending on your own natural lip colour there will be variations.
They give a glossy, stained finish - not as precise as a lipstick but not as slick as a gloss. Just the right amount of glow and effortlessness.
They do stain too - especially Crush, on me. And they wear evenly too, without flakiness or patching.

I love these. What do you think?

    1. I know! I was really surprised, because if things are drying on other people they will usually be incredibly drying on me, but I don't feel that at all. Plus I love the minty scent. Thank you! :)

  12. I love these. I have them in Rendezvous, Honey, and Lovesick. Honey is my favorite everyday lip color. I wanted to see what Romantic looked like on fair skin, so I was thrilled to come across your blog. Now that I see it on you (and that one looks best on you, btw), I know I need Romantic too :) Thanks for your review!
